Emerging Scholars Assistance Fund

Harrisburg University seeks to provide opportunities to a diverse group of learners, regardless of their socioeconomic status. In fact, 98% of our undergraduate students are disadvantaged and do not have the ability to afford higher education. Although we provide extensive scholarship support to our undergraduate students, sometimes it still isn’t enough.

However, the HU family won’t stand by and watch exceptional students drop out because they can’t afford their basic needs. That is why Trustees Sheri Phillips, Carmen Finestra and David Schankweiler (Emeritus) stepped up to create the Emerging Scholars Assistance Fund.

The Emerging Scholars Assistance Fund provides financial support to our most disadvantaged students to meet needs beyond college tuition. Through paying for things like food, clothing and rent, we can ensure our students aren’t forced to choose between meeting their basic needs and leaving college.
